Even the parking lots are a sight to behold. |
A flood of analogies fills my mind when I think about how it feels to return home to America: a marathon runner stumbling through the finish line; a parched throat able to quench a burning thirst; a swimmer coming up for air at the limit of breath; an involuntarily clenched fist mindfully releasing.
We're just so grateful to be here.
Pretty strong metaphors - I'd like to see what's in that parking lot...
ReplyDeleteSo true and well said! When we come up for air in October I will think of this and wish I'd said it :) All of these posts are wonderful. I've never in all these years actually seen anyone wearing those shepherd's hats. You have such a good eye. We have one that the missionaries wear for birthday pictures and I can tell you, they don't smell so good! Miss you.
